Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

No. 24 Women's Soccer ties Rochester, 1-1

ROCHESTER, N.Y. –  The No. 24-ranked RIT women's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw against No.13 Rochester in a tightly contested non-conference matchup, Tuesday evening.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Sophomore forward Eli Gonzalez had a shot in the 71st minute that hit the top woodwork and bounced out of play.
  • Two minutes later, the Tigers opened the scoring when sophomore forward Amerie Mills found the back of the net for her second goal of the season.
  • Rochester equalized in the 82nd minute on a goal by Natalie Santangelo, assisted by Femke Laudy
 
GAME NOTES
  • RIT recorded eight shots, including three on goal.
  • Senior goalkeeper Emily Sanchez made five saves in 80 minutes of action before sophomore Avery Donnelly added one save in the final 10 minutes.
  • Amerie Mills led RIT with a pair of shots on goal and a total of three shots.
  • RIT remains undefeated through 10 games with a record of 5-0-5 and is currently ranked 24th in this week's United Soccer Coaches poll.
