Women's Hockey downs Post, 8-1

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT first year forward Tilli Keranen tallied two goals and an assist to lead the Tigers to an 8-1 win over Post, Saturday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Sophomore forward Kailey Favro scored a power play goal at 11:04 of the first period to give RIT the lead.
  • Keranen fired a shot on net from the face off dot. The rebound came to Favro in the slot and she one-timed a shot in for her first goal of the season.
  • Junior forward Addie Alvarez scored an unassisted power play goal at 8:59 of the second period.
  • First year forward Kolbee Ashe scored a power play goal at 11:44 of the frame to give the Tigers a 3-0 lead.
  • Celena Mickevicius tallied a short-handed goal at 13:57 of the second to cut RIT's lead to 3-1.
  • First year forward Cassie Barnes scored a power pay goal at 14:15 and Linda Rulle scored a fourth power play goal for the Tigers at 14:34 to extend the Tiger's lead to 5-1.
  • Keranen scored her first collegiate goal at 6:27 of the third and a short-handed goal at 10:31 of the period to give the Tigers a 7-1 lead.
  • First year defender Laura Dyke scored a power play goal at 17:55 to make it an 8-1 final.
 
GAME NOTES:
  • RIT outshot Post, 54-9.
  • The Tigers went 6-for-9 on the power play.
  • Sophomore goalie Brenna McNamara made eight saves in net to earn the win.
  • Dyke, Urbach and Barnes each recorded their first collegiate points.
