Women's Hockey downs No. 14 St. Lawrence, 4-1

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT sophomore forward Brac Kelley scored a career-high two goals to lead the Tigers to a 4-1 win over No. 14 St. Lawrence, Friday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Junior forward Linda Rulle scored 2:44 into the first period to give RIT a 1-0 lead. Sophomore forward Kailey Favro had a shot blocked by a Saints defender. Rulle gathered the loose puck and tapped in a shot for her third goal of the season.
  • Senior forward Jaidan Fahrny gave RIT a 2-0 lead on her goal at 5:30 of the second period. First year forward Tilli Keranen had a shot. Fahrny gathered the loose puck and scored on a wraparound shot.
  • Senior goalie Sophia Bellina made 16 saves in the second period including three straight off shots from Kiley Mastel, Ella Nancarrow and Kennedy Wilson at 9:42 of the frame.
  • Abby Hehl scored for St. Lawrence at 11:14 of the second that cut the Tiger's lead to 201.
  • Kelley scored a power play goal at 7:11 of the third period to give the Tigers a 3-1 lead.
  • Sophomore defender Emma Pickering fired a shot from the point. The rebound came to Kelley, and she tapped in a shot into the open net.
  • Kelley tallied an empty-net goal at 19:08 of the third period to make it a 4-1 final.
 
GAME NOTES:
  • St. Lawrence outshot RIT, 39-37.
  • The Tigers went 1-for-3 on the power play, while the Saints were 0-for-2.
  • Bellina made 38 saves in net for the Tigers. It is the fifth-most saves of her career.
  • It is RIT's first win over St. Lawrence since the 2022-23 season.
