Game Recap: Women's Hockey |

Women's Hockey beats Robert Morris, 5-1

MOON TOWNSHIP, PA – RIT junior forward Addie Alvarez scored a goal and added two assists in the Tigers 5-1 win at Robert Morris, Saturday.
 
Sophomore forward Brac Kelley tallied a goal, and an assist and sophomore forward Kailey Favro had two assists. First year forward Olivia Urbach scored her first collegiate goal and first year defender Cassandra Kehler had an assist for her first collegiate point.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Alvarez scored at 6:57 of the first period off assists from Favro and Kehler to give RIT the lead.
  • Kelley tallied a power play goal at 9:27 of the opening frame to extend the Tiger's lead to 2-0.
  • Gramlich gave RIT a 3-0 lead on her power play goal at 13:08 of the second period from Kelley and Alvarez.
  • Sheyne Desjardins scored at 19:30 of the second which cut RIT's lead to 3-1.
  • Junior forward Linda Rulle scored a short-handed empty-net goal at 17:32 of the third period to give the Tigers a 4-1 lead.
  • Urbach scored at 19:10 of the third to make it a 5-1 final.
 
GAME NOTES:
  • RIT outshot Robert Morris, 24-21.
  • The Tigers went 2-for-7 on the power play, while the Colonials were 0-for-3.
  • Junior goalie Sophia Bellina made 20 saves in net for the Tigers.
