ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT baseball team split a doubleheader against Ithaca; losing 3-2, and winning 5-3, Sunday.
GAME ONE – Ithaca 3, RIT 2 (10 inn.)

Alex Slotter allowed three hits in his seven inning outing as the Tigers fall to Ithaca in extra innings, 3-2 in the first game of a Sunday doubleheader.
- Sophomore first baseman Trent Rapp hit a sacrifice fly to center field that scored junior shortstop Randy Dodig and put the Tigers in front 1-0 in the first inning
- In the third inning, senior designated hitter Kyle Poorman earned an RBI single to left field and scored junior right fielder Adam Marsh, giving RIT a 2-0 lead
- The Bombers tied the game at two runs in the fourth inning after a sacrifice fly was hit to left field and a base runner scored on an error by the Tigers defense
- Slotter only allowed one hit for the next three innings. Sophomore relief pitcher Luc Rising came to the mound for RIT in the eighth
- The Tigers and Bombers each left two runners on base in the eighth inning and were both shut out in the ninth, with their first three batters recording three-straight outs
- Being considered the away team, RIT batted first in the extra inning and was unable to get any men on base
- The Bombers scored the winning run in the bottom of the tenth on an RBI double through the right side
GAME TWO – RIT 5, Ithaca 3
Sophomore first baseman
Trent Rapp goes 2-for-5 and earns the game-winning RBI as the Tigers defeated Ithaca, 5-3 in game two of a Sunday doubleheader.
- The Bombers got on the scoreboard first after hitting a RBI double down the left field line in the second inning
- Sophomore second baseman Jarin Moses tied the game in the third after hitting an RBI single up the middle that scored junior shortstop Randy Dodig
- In the fourth, Dodig hit an RBI single through the right side that scored sophomore third baseman Charlie Slaymaker, putting the Tigers in front 2-1
- Senior catcher Kyle Poorman increased the lead to two runs after earning an RBI single in the fifth that scored Rapp
- In the bottom of the fifth, the Bombers were able to tie the game 3-3 after hitting an RBI single and double
- Three scoreless innings were thrown by the combined efforts of senior starting pitcher John Arnold and graduate student relief pitcher Eric Sipling
- In the ninth, the Tigers first two batters, junior right fielder Adam Marsh and Moses, were able to get on base before Rapp would hit a single to right center that scored both and put RIT in front 5-3
- Sipling walked one batter in the bottom of the ninth, but the Bombers were unable to score any additional runs
