ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT women's soccer team celebrated Senior Day with a 1-0 win over Union, Saturday. Senior forward
Rachel Marriott proved to be the hero of the game, scoring the lone goal in the 21st minute.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The game's only goal came in the 21st minute in the first half when Marriott tapped the ball past Union's goalkeeper off a cross from the right side by junior forward Elana Onodera. The play originated with a though ball from senior midfielder Olivia Harris in the middle of the field.
- Sam Friedman gave Union their best scoring opportunity in the 65th minute with a low shot from the right side, only to be stopped by an out-stretched junior goalkeeper Emily Sanchez.
GAME NOTES
- Sanchez made two saves to earn her seventh win and second shutout of the season.
- Marriott's goal is her sixth of the year and now has 15 points (6 goals, 3 assists) through 15 games.
- With the win, RIT is now unbeaten in their last four games with a record of 3-0-1.

The Tigers host their Breast Cancer Awareness game this coming Tuesday (Oct. 29) against No. 8-ranked Ithaca. Game time is scheduled for 5 p.m.
