Women's Hockey falls 4-1 to No. 6 St. Lawrence

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT senior forward Bronwyn Khangsar scored in the Tigers 4-1 loss to No. 6 St. Lawrence in non-conference action, Friday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Abby Hehl scored at 15:22 of the first period to give the Saints the lead. She intercepted a loose puck at center ice and scored on a shot into the top corner.
  • RIT had six shots on goal in the opening frame including a pair from first year forward Ireland Stein. She intercepted a pass at center ice late in the period and broke in, firing a wrist shot that was kicked aside by Saints netminder Emma-Sofie Nordstrom.
  • Taylor Lum gave the Saints a 2-0 lead on her goal at 1:17 of the second period and Aly McLeod made it 3-0 on her goal at 2:49 of the frame.
  • Sarah Marchand scored at 14:58 to increase the Saints' lead to 4-0.
  • Khangsar scored at 5:25 of the third period to cut the St. Lawrence to 4-1, scoring on a one-timer from the slot off an assist from senior forward Megan McCormick.  
GAME NOTES
  • St. Lawrence outshot RIT 33-23.
  • Each team was 0-for-1 with the extra skater
  • Senior goalie Sarah Coe made 24 saves over the first two periods in net for the Tigers
  • Tiger first-year goalie Brenna McNamara made her collegiate debut, totaling five saves over the final 20 minutes of scoreless work.
