Game Recap: Men's Hockey |

No. 19/20 Men's Hockey shuts out Bentley, 3-0, on record-breaking night by Scarfone

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT junior goaltender Tommy Scarfone totaled 19 saves for his program-record 44th-career victory to backstop the No. 19/20 Tigers to a 3-0 shutout of visiting Bentley in Atlantic Hockey action at the Gene Polisseni Center, Friday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • RIT got on the board at 14:10 of the first off a Falcon turnover in the neutral zone. Sophomore forward Philippe Jacques got the puck along the left-wing boards and skated on goal to snap a shot over Bentley goaltender Connor Halsey's shoulder, far post.
  • The Tigers scored the lone goal of the second period following a Bentley tripping minor. Fifth-year defenseman Gianfranco Cassaro intercepted a clearing attempt at the point and sent a pass to junior forward Carter Wilkie in the left faceoff circle. Wilkie slid a pass back to Cassaro for a one-timer that deflected off Halsey's pads to the right slot where senior forwad Cody Laskosky roofed the rebound, far post, at 14:55.
  • RIT fifth-year forward Elijah Gonsalves tacked on a long-distance empty-net goal with 4.5 left in regulation to complete close the Tigers' third-consecutive victory.
GAME NOTES
