ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT first-year midfielder
Emma Pedro scored her first collegiate goal as the Tigers tied No. 1 William Smith, 1-1, Wednesday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Sophomore Elena Onodera had a breakaway opportunity in the 15th minute, taking a shot from the top of the box that missed near post
- William Smith capitalized on Onodera's missed shot, scoring a goal on the ensuing position less than a minute later
- In the 27th minute, Onodera took a shot that rebounded off the crossbar to junior midfielder Olivia Harris at the top of the box. Harris slid a pass to an open Pedro in front of the left post for a short finish to tie the game
- RIT sophomore midfielder Jillian Antol took a shot in the 38th minute that was saved near the left post
- William Smith nearly won the game off of a corner kick in the 88th minute, but sophomore goalkeeper Emily Sanchez was able to clear the ball out of the crowd to preserve the tie

- Harris' assist was her third of the season
- Sanchez had a season-high six saves
