No. 1 Men's Lacrosse beats Nazareth 18-9

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT senior co-captain John Mozrall scored a career-high four goals to lead the top-ranked Tigers to an 18-9 win over Nazareth, Wednesday.
 
Senior attack Spencer Bell had three goals, while junior midfielder Seth Grottenthaler and first-year attack Ethan Harkins each scored two goals.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Mozrall scored three of the Tigers six first-quarter goals. Grottenthaler, sophomore attack Clifford Gaston and sophomore long-stick midfielder scored.
  • Bell, senior long-stick midfielder Joe Camp and junior midfielder Connor Finneran each scored in the second quarter, while the Tigers defense held the Golden Flyers to a goal and led 9-3 at halftime.
  • Grottenthaler, Mozrall, Finneran and Harkins each scored in the third quarter and led 13-6, while Nazareth scored three times in the frame.
  • Bell, Harkins, senior midfielders Caiden Perry and TJ Hendricks and senior midfielder Josh Hamill scored in the fourth quarter to make it an 18-9 final
 
GAME NOTES
  • RIT outshot Nazareth 62-29.
  • The Tigers went 3-for-6 on man-up and won 18-of-31 face-offs
  • Junior goalie Kyle Burbank made 12 saves to earn the win.
  • Senior Ethan Harkins won 11-of-14 draws and had nine ground balls.
  • Senior defenseman Zach Gagnon and junior Hunter FitzGibbons each had two caused turnovers.
