Women's Hockey wins 7-0 at Saint Michael's

COLCHESTER, VT – RIT senior Mia Tsilemos recorded a career-high three assists and three points in the Tigers 7-0 win at Saint Michael's, Friday. Junior Athena Vasdani scored two goals.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Vasdani gave RIT the lead on her goal 5:42 into the first period off assists from Tsilemos and first-year Linda Rulle.
  • Junior Kylie Aquaro scored the first of five second-period goals for RIT at 11:33 of the frame from first-year Emma Pickering and senior Emma Roland.
  • Vasdani scored her second goal of the game at 13:47, while junior Megan McCormick gave the Tigers a 4-0 lead on her goal at 14:45.
  • Senior Chloe McNeil scored at 15:50 of the second to extend the Tigers lead to 5-0.
  • First-year Addie Alvarez scored at 2:06 of the third period off assists from Tsilemos and sophomore Jaidan Fahrny, and Pickering scored a power play goal at 6:43 to make it a 7-0 final.
 
GAME NOTES
  • RIT's 71 shots on goal is the most shots on target since the Tigers fired 71 against Sacred Heart in 2013
  • Sophomore goalie Sophia Bellina made eight saves to earn the win
  • RIT went 2-for-5 on the power play and won 34-of-62 face offs
