Women's Hockey ties No. 12 Penn State 2-2

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA – RIT sophomore forward Athena Vasdani tied the game in the third period to help the Tigers to a 2-2 draw at No. 12 Penn State, Saturday.
 
Sophomore forward Jordyn Bear scored, while junior defensewoman Bailey Kehl, graduate student forward Amy Dobson and senior forward Jaymee Nolan each had assists. Sophomore goalie Sarah Coe made a season-high 39 saves.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Jordyn Bear scored at 11:55 of the first to give the Tigers the lead. She scored off assists from Nolan and twin-sister Kyla Bear.
  • Coe made 11 saves in the opening frame.
  • Tessa Janecke scored 23 seconds into the second period tying the score at 1-1.
  • Kiara Zanon scored at 14:46 of the period to give the Nittany Lions a 2-1 lead.
  • Vasdani tied the game at 2-2 on her goal at 11:02 of the third on an assist from Dobson.
 
GAME NOTES
  • Penn State outshot RIT, 41-13.
  • RIT blocked a season-high 27 shots.
  • Dobson led the Tigers with five blocked shots.
