ROCHESTER, NY – RIT senior midfielder
Jonathan Cohen tallied his second goal of the season to lead the Tigers to a 2-0 victory over Hobart in the Liberty League opener, Tuesday.
Sophomore forward
Jaden Winall Longdon scored his first goal of the season, while senior forward
Joshua Price and senior midfielder
Randy Dickersbach each had an assist.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Cohen opened the scoring in the second minute, scoring off a miscue by Hobart keeper Christian Burkhart at the top of the Statesmen penalty box. Junior defender Patrick Kenyon served a long-ball into the Hobart box.
- Longdon scored in the the 58th minute to put the Tigers up 2-0 off assists from Price and Dickersbach. Price sent a pass into the Hobart penalty box that Longdon was able to steer into the corner.
GAME NOTES
- RIT outshot Hobart 10-3, including three on target.
- RIT took nine corner kicks to two for the Statesmen.
- Sophomore goalie Jason earned his second shutout of the season
