Women’s Lacrosse loses 21-14 at No. 13 St. Lawrence

CANTON, N.Y. – Senior Colette Rigas scored six goals and tallied seven points in RIT's (5-10, 3-7 Liberty League) 21-14 loss at No. 13 St. Lawrence (16-1, 9-1 Liberty League), Saturday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Senior Krystyna Sterio scored with 10:25 remaining in the first quarter after the Saints jumped out to a 4-0 lead.
  • St. Lawrence scored four straight goals to lead 8-1 after the first 15 minutes.
  • Rigas scored twice in the second quarter as RIT trailed 14-3 at halftime.
  • RIT outscored St. Lawrence 7-3 in the third quarter.
  • Senior Aldyn Savage scored her 31st goal of the season to begin the quarter.
  • Rigas scored to make it 14-5 and then again to cut the Saints lead to 14-6.
  • Senior Steph Darrell scored with 10:49 remaining in the quarter to make the score 15-7.
  • Darrell scored her second goal of the quarter with 5:41 to play that cut the Saints lead to 17-8.
  • Sterio tallied back-to-back goals that helped RIT cut the lead to 17-10.
  • Rigas pulled the Tigers to within six goals on her goal early in the fourth quarter.
  • Junior Baylee West scored off an assist from Savage with 9:21 remaining to make it 18-12.
  • Savage scored off an assist from Rigas with 2:19 to play, and Rigas scored with 1:05 remaining to make it a 21-14 final.
 
GAME NOTES
  • RIT fired 35 shots, including 21 on target.
  • The Tigers went 13-for-13 on clearing attempts and won 19 draw controls.
  • Sterio finished with three goals, while Darrell and Savage each tallied two goals and an assist.
  • Savage led RIT with eight draw controls, while Rigas had three ground balls.
  • Freshman Linda Nutter made eight saves in net for the Tigers.
  • Courtney Lynn made five saves for St. Lawrence.
  • Morgan Arakelian had six points on a goal and five assists.
