No. 2 Men’s Lacrosse wins 20-7 at Skidmore

ROCHESTER, NY – Senior Spencer Bell scored three goals to help No. 2 RIT (14-1, 5-1 Liberty League) men's lacrosse to a 20-7 win at Skidmore (5-8, 0-6 Liberty League), Saturday.
 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Bell scored all three of his goals in the opening quarter to help RIT to a 6-0 lead
  • Senior Quinn Commandant and junior Luke Pilcher each scored twice in the second quarter to help the Tigers to a 14-0 halftime lead
  • Juniors Dylan Bruno and Caiden Perry scored, senior Marley Angus and sophomore LSM Caleb Commandant also scored for the Tigers in the second
  • Skidmore scored the first four goals of the third quarter, cutting the RIT lead to 14-4 on Brian Gonsalves' goal midway through the quarter
  • Sophomore Miles Tillman broke the Thoroughbreds run with his goal with 4:58 to play in the third
  • Skidmore's Jon Bouvier and Gonsalves each scored early in the fourth quarter to cut the RIT lead to 15-7
  • Sophomores Keegan Lochner, Ian Dinga and Michael Finneran, senior Adam Wolf and freshman Lucas Brennwald all scored for RIT in the fourth quarter to make it a 20-7 final
 
GAME NOTES
  • RIT fired 57 shots, including 35 on target
  • RIT finished 25-of-26 on clearing attempts, converted 1-of-3 man-up chances and scooped up 49 ground balls
  • Senior Marley Angus finished with a goal and four assists, while Pilcher and Commandant each scored two goals
  • Senior LSM Taylor Jensen caused four turnovers and had three ground balls
  • Senior goalie Drew Hutchison made three saves in net to improve to 14-1 on the season
  • Gonsalves led Skidmore with three goals, while Collin Kuester made eight saves in net for the Thoroughbreds
