No. 3 Men’s Lacrosse wins 19-6 at Ithaca

ITHACA, N.Y. – Senior Conor Bollin and junior Luke Pilcher each scored four goals to lead No. 3 RIT (11-1, 3-1 Liberty League) men's lacrosse to a 19-6 win at Ithaca (9-3, 2-2 Liberty League), Wednesday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Pilcher and senior Marley Angus each scored twice to lead RIT to a 7-0 first-quarter lead.
  • Freshman Sam Bennett, senior Spencer Bell and junior Dylan Bruno also scored in the quarter.
  • Bollin scored twice in the second quarter to lead the Tigers to a 13-1 halftime lead.
  • Senior goalie Drew Hutchison made eight first-half saves.
  • RIT caused nine turnovers and held Ithaca to 5-of-11 on clearing attempts.
  • Senior Quinn Commandant extended the RIT lead to 14-1 with a goal early in the third.
  • Pilcher scored off an assist from senior Ryan Barnable to give the Tigers a 15-1 lead.
  • Ithaca's Jake Erickson scored two straight goals to cut the RIT lead to 15-3.
  • Bollin scored off a feed from sophomore Keegan Lochner late in the third to give the Tigers a 16-3 lead.
  • Sophomore Miles Tillman scored his third goal of the season early in the fourth quarter that gave RIT a 17-4 lead.
  • Bollin scored his fourth goal of the game off an assist from sophomore Ian Dinga, and senior Andrew Doktor scored off an assist from sophomore Connor Finneran late in regulation.
 
GAME NOTES
  • RIT fired 51 shots, including 35 on target.
  • The Tigers won 16-of-29 face-offs and finished 18-of-18 on clears.
  • Hutchison made 14 saves to improve to 11-1 on the season.
  • Bell, Commandant and Angus each scored two goals.
  • Barnable, Bennett and Bruno each finished with a goal and an assist.
  • Graduate student Jimmy Spillane won 9-of-12 face-offs and had three ground balls.
