Baseball suffers setback to St. John Fisher, 3-0

ROCHESTER, N.Y.  - The RIT baseball team fell 3-0 to visiting St. John Fisher at Tiger Stadium, Wednesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • St. John Fisher took a 2-0 lead in the fifth. The Cardinals' first run crossed the plate after Fisher's Nick Lemire reached first on an error. Lemire would then score after an RBI-double from Ben Lavery.
  • In the sixth inning, James Murphy scored the game's final run after Evan Bowers was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.
GAME NOTES
  • St. John Fisher outhit the Tigers 4-3
  • RIT got hits from senior first baseman Ian Libby (third inning), sophomore shortstop Randy Dodig (second inning), and senior centerfielder Will Porter (eighth inning).
  • Starting senior pitcher Jon Opalewski took the loss after allowing three hits, two runs, one walk with seven strikeouts in five innings of work.
  • Sophomore pitcher John Arnold allowed one hit, one run, two walks with three strikeouts in four innings of relief.
