No. 1 RIT Men's Lacrosse wins 12-6 at No. 19 Ursinus

COLLEGEVILLE, PA – Senior Quinn Commandant scored five goals to lead No. 1 RIT (5-0) to a 12-6 win at No. 19 Ursinus (2-3), Sunday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Freshman Clifford Gaston scored two of his three goals in the opening quarter to lead RIT to a 3-0 lead.
  • He scored off assists from senior Ryan Barnable (11:55) and junior Joe Camp in transition (10:19).
  • Barnable scored off a feed from senior Marley Angus late in the opening quarter.
  • Commandant scored twice in the second quarter to lead the Tigers to an 8-2 halftime lead.
  • He scored off an assist from senior Zeb Hollinger (10:06) and again off a nice feed from Gaston (6:38).
  • Hollinger and Gaston each had a goal and an assist in the quarter.
  • Commandant scored three of his five goals in the third quarter.
  • Ursinus scored twice late in the quarter to cut the Tigers lead to 11-5.
  • Senior Spencer Bell scored off an assist from Barnable early in the fourth quarter to give the Tigers a lead.
  • Tommy Reinhart cut the RIT lead to 12-6 on his goal with 8:52 remaining.
 
GAME NOTES
  • Senior Drew Hutchison made 15 saves in net to improve to 5-0 on the season.
  • RIT fired 38 shots, including 24 on target.
  • The Tigers finished 12-of-24 on clearing attempts.
  • Erik Ojert led Ursinus with a goal and two assists, while Jonathan Singer made 12 saves in net for the Bears.
