Women's Soccer loses to Amherst in Second Round of NCAA Tournament

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT women's soccer team lost 1-0 to Amherst in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, Sunday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Amherst's Patience Kum scored in the 19th minute to give the Mammoths the lead. She scored on a shot from six-yards out off an assist from Alexa Juarez.
  • Graduate student defender Jessica Wagner saved a Juarez shot off the line in the 25th minute to keep it a one-goal deficit for the Tigers.
  • RIT first-year midfielder Jillian Antol's shot from 20-yards out in the 74th minute looked to be headed for the corner, but Amherst keeper Mika Fisher punched the shot away.
 
GAME NOTES
  • Amherst outshot RIT 11-4
  • The Tigers had two corner kicks
  • Senior goalie Darcie Jones made three saves for the Tigers.
  • This was RIT's fourth appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
