Women's Soccer loses to Ithaca

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT sophomore forward Sam Halligan scored her league-leading eighth goal of the season in the Tigers 2-1 loss to Ithaca, Tuesday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Ithaca's Rosie Bastian gave the Bombers the lead on her goal in the 11th minute. She headed a ball into the corner off a corner kick from Megan Bastian.
  • Halligan converted a penalty kick in the 19th minute to tie the game at 1-1. She was fouled inside the Ithaca penalty box, and powered a shot into the corner.
  • Julia Cascone gave Ithaca the lead on her goal in the 34th minute. Kaelyn Fernandez sent a pass to Cascone. She dribbled in and fired a shot into the corner.
  • First-year forward Elena Onodera had a shot from eight-yards out in the 83rd minute that was wide, while sophomore Olivia Harris had a shot in the 86th minute just miss the post from five-yards away.
 
GAME NOTES
  • RIT outshot Ithaca 11-9, including seven on target.
  • The Tigers remain in third in the Liberty League standings.
  • The Tigers had five corner kicks.
  • Senior goalie Darcie Jones made three saves for the Tigers.

RIT returns to action on Saturday (Oct. 29) against Union at 2:00 p.m. RIT will honor seniors Erin Allor, Maddy Bullis, Madison Corso, Jessica Wagner and Lauren Zeglen before Saturday's contest.
