Women's Hockey loses on the road at RPI

TROY, N.Y. –  The RIT women's hockey team lost 2-0 at Rensselaer in non-conference action, Friday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • RPI's Marah Wagner gave the Engineers a 1-0 lead on her goal 4:28 into the second period. Sabrina Beaudoin fired a shot that RIT junior goalie Emma Stephen saved. The rebound came to Wagner who scored into the open net.
  • Maddy Papineau extended the Engineers lead to 2-0 on her goal at 14:10 of the second. She beat Stephen with a wrist shot from above the face-off circle.
  • Graduate student forward Amy Dobson and sophomore defensewoman Kyla Bear each had shots on target in a flurry in front of the RPI net early in the third period.
 
 GAME NOTES
  • RPI outshot RIT 38-13
  • The Tigers won 26 face-offs and blocked 10 shots.
  • Stephen made 36 saves for the Tigers.
  • Junior forward Emma Roland had four shots on net.
