Women's Volleyball goes 4-0 at University of Rochester Invitational

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT seniors Katie Hobler (Rochester, NY/Our Lady of Mercy) and Taylor Higgins (Peru, NY/Peru) were named all-tournament team selections after leading the Tigers to a 4-0 record at the University of Rochester Invitational, Friday and Saturday.

Hobler led the way with double-digit kills in three matches, including 11 kills and a .360 hitting percentage in RIT's 3-0 (25-16, 25-15, 25-13) sweep of Medaille on Friday, while also notching 12 kills in Saturday's 3-0 (25-19, 25-17, 25-17) victory over Buffalo State.

Higgins also logged double-digit kills in three matches, including a 12-kill, 14-dig performance in the Medaille decision while attacking at a .409 clip. She also totaled 12 kills in Friday's 3-0 (26-24, 25-18, 26-24) shutout of Smith before serving up six aces to go along with 11 digs in Saturday's 3-0 (25-15, 25-20, 25-18) win over Oneonta.

RIT (5-0) looks to keep its early momentum going with three matches at the Wesleyan Invitational, taking on the host Cardinals on Friday (Sept. 10) at 3:00 p.m. before traveling to Western Connecticut on Saturday (Sept. 11) to take on the host Colonials (12:00 PM) and St. Joseph's – Long Island (2:00 PM).
