Alyssa Salls (Plattsburgh, NY/Plattsburgh) made eight second-half saves in a 2-0 loss to No. 7 William Smith (5-1-1, 1-0-0 Liberty League) in the Liberty League opener for both teams Wednesday.
How it Happened
- RIT junior forward Christine Cataldo-Smith (Yardley, PA/Pennsbury) had a chance in the 12th minute when she got behind the Herons defense. Her shot was deflected away by a William Smith defender.
- William Smith's Amanda Adams scored in the 31st minute off an assist from Merilyn Hinrichs to give the Herons a 1-0 lead.
- Seneca Blakely-Armitage scored in the 61st minute off an assist from Amanda Adams to give William Smith a 2-0 lead.
