HOUGHTON, NY -- The RIT (1-0) men's tennis team began 2021 with a 7-2 win at Houghton College (0-1) in non-conference action Friday afternoon.
In doubles, the team of
Jacob Meyerson (Cranston, RI/Cranston West) and
Jake Wolicki (Canton, MA/Canton) defeated Matthew Cicero and Micah Christensen, 8-0 at second doubles.
Nick Lim (Caldwell, NJ/James Caldwell) and
Ethan Martin (Pearland, TX/Glenda Dawson) were 8-1 winners over Ben McKay and Adam Brown at third doubles.
Brennan Bull (Birmingham, MI/Birmingham Seaholm) defeated Jake Fisher, 6-3, 6-2 at first singles. Wolicki was a 6-2, 6-2 winner at third singles, while Martin defeated Christensen, 6-3, 6-1 at fourth singles. Meyerson beat McKay, 6-0, 6-0 in fifth singles, and Lim was a 6-0, 6-0 winner over Brown at sixth singles.
RIT returns to action on Thursday, March 25 at Niagara University.
