ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT Athletics fans can now watch live broadcasts of their favorite teams from the comfort of their couches while accessing the latest information about the Tigers with a touch of their smartphones.
In its continued partnership with SIDEARM Sports, RIT Athletics launched free Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV and Roku apps, while the RIT Athletics mobile app is available to download on iOS and Android devices.
"We are always looking for new and engaging ways to tell the story of our student-athlete experience and these apps will provide a new path for our fans to see what it means to be a Tiger," said Executive Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Lou Spiotti Jr. "The apps also position us well in an ever-changing broadcast landscape while providing our viewers a new way to enjoy RIT athletic content across a variety of mediums."
Fans can find the streaming app on their preferred platform by searching "RIT Athletics" to get started. From there, users will have access to not only watch live events, but can also access an archive of previous RIT games.
The RIT mobile app allows users a quick and efficient way to get the latest scores, statistics, results and information. Fans can also customize the app by selecting their favorite teams and opting in to receive push notifications whenever events start or news breaks. Search "RIT Athletics" in the Apple App Store or Google Play to download the app.
RIT was one of the first athletic departments in the nation to partner with SIDEARM Sports, which has since become the industry standard for athletic website and multimedia platform hosting with over 1,100 clients across the country ranging from power-five NCAA Division I institutions to NAIA and junior college institutions.
Note: Live hockey games will not be streamed using any of the RIT Athletics apps. Live men's hockey games will continue to exclusively appear on Flohockey while women's hockey will appear on Stretch Internet.
