Women’s Hockey loses at Lindenwood, 3-1

ST. CHARLES, MO. – RIT junior goaltender Taylor Liotta made 38 saves, but it was a pair of Lindenwood power-play goals that gave the Lions a 3-1 victory, Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • After a scoreless first period, junior forward Hana Solinger staked the Tigers to a 1-0 lead 16:12 into the second period. Solinger shot from the crease area after driving to the net and receiving a pass on the left side from freshman forward Athena Vasdani. The play started when freshman defender Mia Tsilemos sent a long pass from her defensive zone up the left boards to Vasdani at the attacking blueline.
  • Lindenwood tied the game at 1-1 on the power play with just two seconds left in the second.
  • The Lions got the game winner from senior defender Maddison Stitt, unassisted on the power play in the final minute of regulation with 42 seconds left, before adding an empty-net goal with 19 seconds remaining.
