ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT senior outside hitter
Katie Hobler logged a season-high 22 kills and blocked six shots, but it was fourth-seeded St. Lawrence upsetting the top-seeded Tigers, 3-2 (20-25, 17-25, 25-14, 25-21, 15-11) in the Liberty League Women's Volleyball Tournament Semifinals, Friday.
St. Lawrence (17-10) advances to Saturday's championship match at 2:00 p.m. to face third-seeded Clarkson, which defeated second-seeded Ithaca, 3-1 (16-25, 25-23, 27-25, 25-19), in the night's other semifinal.
- RIT senior outside hitter Taylor Higgins added 19 kills and a match-high 23 digs.
- Tiger freshman setter Sydney Neff logged 51 assists for her third 50-plus assist performance of the season. She also added nine digs in the losing effort.
- RIT blocked a season-high 26 shots, including a team-high seven by freshman middle blocker Cat Vento as well as five apiece by freshman middle blocker Samantha Cox (1 solo, 4 assisted) and senior middle blocker Calista Gasper (5 assisted).
- Senior libero Kiana Walker totaled 18 digs while sophomore defensive specialist Jessica Klein added 15.
Ranked first in the NCAA Region III rankings the past two weeks, RIT (24-4) awaits a possible at-large bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament. The 64-team field will be announced Monday (Nov. 8) at 12:30 p.m. on
