Willett tabbed Atlantic Hockey Defensive Player of the Week

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT senior captain Dan Willett was named the Atlantic Hockey Defensive Player of the Week, Monday.

Willett scored what proved to be the game-winning goal with 4:13 left in regulation of Friday's night's 5-4 victory at Princeton, also adding two assists while blocking three shots. He also assisted the game-winning goal and blocked a pair of shots in Saturday's 1-0 overtime shutout to complete the weekend sweep.

Willett currently ranks second nationally with 43 blocked shots. He also leads all Atlantic Hockey players with 69 career assists and is second with 79 career points.

RIT (9-5-2, 5-3-2 AHA) is off until next Saturday and Sunday (Dec. 11-12) when Atlantic Hockey-rival Army pays a visit to the Gene Polisseni Center. Face-off both nights is scheduled for 5:05 p.m.
