ITHACA, NY -- The RIT women's swimming and diving team are in second place after three days of competition at the 2020 Liberty League Swimming and Diving Championship hosted by Ithaca College. The Tigers are second with a team score of 898 points, while Ithaca College is in first with 1,003.5 points.
Sam Russell (Fredon, NJ/Kittatinny Regional) won the Liberty League title in the 100-yd. breaststroke, winning in a time of 1:05.00.
Alicia Shenal (Rochester, NY/Rush-Henrietta) finished fourth in the 100-yd. backstroke (58.56 seconds),
Elle Holland (East Concord, NY/Springville Griffith) was eighth (1:00.39) and Khavy Sangasy placed eighth in the 200-yd. butterfly (2:18.06).
RIT finished fourth in the 800-yd. freestyle relay. The team of
Phoebe Huey (Fort Collins, CO/Fossil Ridge),
Mililani Rosare (Campbell, CA/Westmont),
Devon Scott-Davis (Pittsburgh, PA/Mt. Lebanon) and
Emily Lederman (Morgantown, WV/Morgantown) came home fourth in a time of 7:56.65.
The 2020 Liberty League Championship concludes on Saturday, Feb. 22, with preliminaries beginning at 10 a.m. from the Ithaca College Athletics & Events Center.
