PITTSBURGH, Pa. – RIT senior forward Madison Farrand (Potomac, MD/Winston Churchill) and sophomore forward Abby Davies (Ashton, Ontario/Ottawa Lady Senators) logged goals, but it was host Robert Morris defeating the Tigers, 5-2, in College Hockey America (CHA) play, Saturday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Robert Morris got on the board 35 seconds into the game before Farrand tied the score just over nine minutes later off an assist from freshman defender Justine Larkin (Ottawa, Ontario/Ottawa Lady Senators) and senior defender Taylor Baker (Toronto, Ontario/North Toronto Collegiate Institute)
- The Colonials scored twice in the final six minutes of the first period to build a 3-1 lead into the second.
- Davies grabbed her own rebound off the RMU goalie's pads and jammed a shot inside the right post to pull the Tigers within one, 3-2, with 4:59 left in the second period.
- However, Robert Morris took advantage of a Tiger turnover to build a 4-2 lead with 11:40 left in regulation and tacked on an insurance goal with 7:17 left to seal the win.
