ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Rochester Institute of Technology junior forward Will Calverley (Scarborough, Ontario) was named the Atlantic Hockey Player of the Week, Tuesday.

Calverley scored his first collegiate hat-trick to lead the Tigers to an 8-5 victory in last Friday's season-opener opposite No. 9 Clarkson at the Polisseni Center.

Calverley found the net with 6:30 left in the first period to push RIT to an early 2-0 lead. He later broke a 4-4 tie with a power-play tally with 8:27 left in the third period. The Golden Knights re-tied the game 28 seconds later, but Calverley notched what proved to be the game-winner with 6:15 remaining in regulation.

RIT opens Atlantic Hockey play this Saturday and Sunday with a two-game, home-and-home series with Niagara. The Tigers will host the Purple Eagles on Saturday before hitting the road on Sunday. Both games are scheduled for a 5:05 p.m. faceoff.
