ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT (2-3-1) men's soccer team scored a season-high five goals in a 5-0 win over Houghton College (2-3-2) under the lights at RIT's Turf Field Tuesday evening. Freshman
Josh Price (Baldwinsville, NY/C.W. Baker) led the Tigers with three points, including his first collegiate goal.
Shots were 18-4 in favor of RIT. The Tigers took three corner kicks to none for the Highlanders.
Will Sokol (Branchburg, NJ/Somerville) got the win in net for the Tigers, making two saves. Caleb Loew took the loss in net for Houghton, making six saves.
Simon Garno (Hilton, NY/Hilton) gave RIT a 1-0 lead on his goal off an assist from Price in the 31st minute. Price gave the Tigers a 2-0 lead on his first college goal in the 33rd minute on a service in from
Nick Simone (Hilton, NY/Hilton).
Adam Wuest (Hilton, NY/Hilton) scored on a nice header in the 34th minute off a feed from
Karl McNulty (Hamlin, NY/Brockport) that gave the Tigers a 3-0 halftime lead.
Dante DeSisti (Colombo, Sri Lanka/South Lakes) gave the Tigers a 4-0 lead on his goal from a sharp angle in the 63rd minute, and
Cam Shuman (Chili, NY/Churhcville-Chili) tallied his first career goal in the 69th minute to make it a 5-0 final.
RIT returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 21, when the Tigers host No. 2 SUNY Oneonta at 4 p.m. on the grass at Tiger Stadium.
