Women's lacrosse loses at No. 21 Ithaca College in regular season finale

ITHACA, NY -- The RIT (6-10, 4-6 Liberty League) women's lacrosse team was defeated 19-6 by No. 21 Ithaca College (12-5, 8-2 Liberty League) in regular season finale from chilly Higgins Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Shots were 45-17 in favor of Ithaca. The Tigers grabbed 13 ground balls, won eight draw controls and went 14-of-22 on clearing attempts.

Alanna Fallone (Penfield, NY/Penfield) led RIT with three goals, giving her 50 for the season. Colette Rigas (Marietta, NY/Marcellus), Olivia Africa (Syracuse, NY/Cicero-North Syracuse) and Krystyna Sterio (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) each tallied a goal, while Steph Darrell (East Norhtport, NY/St. Anthony's) grabbed three ground balls and caused two turnovers. Paulina Goodermote (Rochester, NY/Churchville-Chili) took the loss in net despite making a career-high 19 saves.

Bailey Herr led Ithaca with seven goals and 11 points.Allie Panara tallied three goals and four assists and Elizabeth Rice scored three goals. Mackenzie Schade picked up the win in net for the Bombers, making eight saves.

Ithaca began the game on an eight-goal run. Sterio broke the Bombers run on her goal with 5:36 remaining in the opening half that cut the Ithaca lead to 8-1. Fallone tallied the first of her three goals early in the second half that cut the Bombers lead to 8-2.

After a three-goal Ithaca burst made the score 11-2, the Tigers ran off two straight goals. Rigas cut the deficit to 11-3 on her goal off an assist from Darrell, and Africa made it an 11-4 game on her goal with 20:53 to play. Ithaca outscored the Tigers 8-2 down the stretch to make it a 19-6 final. Fallone's 50 goals are the tenth most in a season in program history.
