ROCHESTER, NY – The RIT men's tennis team wrapped up the 2018-19 season with a 9-0 win over Bard College (0-11, 0-8 Liberty League) from the Midtown Athletic Club on Friday evening. RIT finished the 2018-19 season with a 7-10 record.
The Tigers opened the match by winning all three doubles matches. The first doubles duo of
Brennan Bull (Birmingham, MI/Birmingham Seaholm) and
Jacob Meyerson (Cranston, RI/Cranston West) knocked off Satchel Fisher and Immanuel Zion, 8-3.
Nick Lim (West Caldwell, NJ/West Caldwell) and
Patrick Mathews (Rochester, NY/Churchville-Chili) shutout Isaac Rosenthal and Zayd Normand at the second position, 8-0, while
Carter Casimir (Lewisburg, PA/Lewisburg Area) and
Jake Wolicki (Canton, MA/Canton) earned an 8-2 win over Aidan Galloway and Daniyal Zafar.
RIT continued its winning ways in singles. Mathews, Wolicki,
Michael Peters (New Hope, PA/Holy Ghost Prep) and
David Trimmer (York, PA/Dallastown) rolled to resounding wins at three through six.
Spencer Lowitt (Syosset, NY/Syosset) earned a 6-1, 6-4 win over Zion at second singles, while Bull defeated Fisher in three sets, 6-4, 3-6, 6-2.
Bull and Wolicki led the team with seven singles wins apiece, while Lim and Mathews combined win eight doubles matches as a duo.
