No. 3 Men's lacrosse cruises to win at Bard

Seventeen different Tigers score in 28-1 win

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, NY – The No. 3 RIT men's lacrosse team (9-1, 3-0 Liberty League) rolled to a 28-1 win over Bard College (3-4, 0-2 Liberty League) in a Liberty League contest from Ferrari Field on Saturday. Seventeen different players scored for the Tigers in the win.
 
RIT was in control from the start, scoring 20 times in the first half to lead 20-0 at the break and extended its lead to 23-0 before Bard's Peter Sojka scored with 1:09 remaining in the third quarter. The 28 goals are a season-high for the Tigers and most scored in a game since tallying 29 in the 2017 NCAA Tournament Second Round versus John Carroll.
 
The Tigers out-shot Bard, 56-11, including a 47-6 edge in shots on goal. RIT won the ground ball battle, 48-18, were 9-of-9 clears and won 22-of-31 face-offs.
 
Adam Wolf (Oakville, Ontario/Everest Academy) led the way offensively with a career-high eight points on four goals and four assists. Nick Ehmann (Rochester, NY/Gates-Chili) also had four goals and added an assist for a career-high five-point effort. Spencer Bell (Fairport, NY/Fairport) and Ryan Tandy (Montrose, NY/Hendrick-Hudson) added three goals and an assist apiece, while Marley Angus (Oakville, Ontario/Holy Trinity) scored his first two collegiate goals and added an assist. Connor Bollin scored once and added two assists.
 
Sean Traynor (Highlands Ranch, CO/Valor Christian) and Erik Jakobsze (Webster, NY/Webster Schroeder) scored their first collegiate goals in the win. Jakobsze added an assist for a two-point day and won 7-of-10 draws to go along with six ground balls. Cameron Gebhardt (Fairport, NY/Fairport), Shawn Nally (Rochester, NY/McQuaid) and Dawson Tait (Ottawa, Ontario/Mother Teresa) also tallied a goal and an assist apiece. Damon Currie, Cam Isaac (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas), Connor Pupp (Calgary, Alberta/Lord Beaverbrook), Luke Henderson (Hespeler, Ontario/St. Benedict's Catholic), Matt Wiechers (Waterloo, Ontario/The Kiski School) and Trevor Smyth (Orangeville, Ontario/The Kiski School) also scored.
 
Nick Montemorano (Victor, NY/Victor) won all nine of his face-offs, while Brett Naylor (Clarence, NY/Clarence) won 6-of-8 draws and added an assist to go along with two caused turnovers. Jordan Trottier (Ottawa, Ontario/West Carleton) and Matt Streit (Penfield, NY/Webster Schroeder) also caused two turnovers each. All four goalkeepers all saw time between the pipes. Walker Hare (Libertyville, IL/Libertyville) picked up his ninth win of the year with an unblemished opening quarter of play. Holden McDonald (Toronto, Ontatrio/St. Mary Catholic), Drew Hutchinson and John Kuzmeski (Hadley, MA/Suffield Academy) combined to make five saves.
 
Lyle Healey made 19 saves in defeat for the Raptors. Sojka, who scored Bard's lone goal, led the team with six shots.
 
RIT leads the all-time series against Bard, 5-0.

The Tigers return to action on Wednesday with a road contest at SUNY Cortland that gets underway at 7 p.m.
