Women's hockey opens league play with home series against Robert Morris

ROCHESTER, NY – The RIT women's hockey team returns home to open College Hockey America play with a pair of home contests against Union College from the Gene Polisseni Center on Friday, Nov. 2 and Saturday, Nov. 3. Friday's game begins at 6 p.m., while Saturday's contest gets underway at 1 p.m.
 
Tickets are $5 for adults, and $3 for youth. Admission is free for all RIT faculty, staff, alumni and students (one ticket per valid ID). Tickets are available at the Gene Polisseni Center and Gordon Field House Box Offices, by calling (585) 475-4121 or by visiting www.rittickets.com.
 
The Tigers (1-4-3) look to get back in the win column after going 0-1-1 at Rensselaer last weekend. RIT and RPI skated to a 1-1 draw on Friday, while the Engineers scored with 1.2 seconds remaining in regulation to defeat the Tigers 3-2 Saturday. Kathryn Kennedy (Hamilton, Ontario/) scored RIT's goal on Friday, while Claudia Black (Newmarket, Ontario/St. Maximilian Kobe) and Kendall Cornine (Kinnelon, NJ/Morristown Beard) scored on Saturday. Terra Lanteigne (Hatchet Lake, Nova Scotia/Charles P. Allen) made 54 saves on the weekend.
 
Cornine leads the team in scoring with eight points on six goals and two assists in eight games this season. Brittney Gout (Caledon, Ontario/Brampton Canadettes) and Mallory Rushton (Amherst, Nova Scotia/New Hampton Prep) are right behind with five points apiece. Lanteigne has played in all eight games and has a 2.07 goals against average and a .929 save percentage.

Robert Morris (4-5-1, 2-1-1 CHA) earned three points against league foe Lindenwood University at home last weekend, skating to a 2-2 tie on Friday before garnering a 2-0 win Saturday. Jaycee Gebhard leads the Colonials in scoring with 13 points on six goals and seven assists. In goal, Lauren Bailey has played in nine games, recording a 2.22 goals against average and a .899 save percentage.
 
Robert Morris leads the all-time series between the two schools, 17-10-3. The Colonials won all four meetings in 2017-18.
