Men's soccer comes back from two-goal deficit to tie leaugue foe Skidmore

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY -- The RIT (4-5-3, 2-2-2 Liberty League) men's soccer team trailed 2-0 in the second half, but stormed back to score two goals to tie Skidmore College (5-1-6, 1-0-5 Liberty League) 2-2 in Liberty League action Saturday afternoon. Dean Kouroupas (Ridgefield, CT/Ridgefield) and Mike Reverdatto (Bethlehem, NY/Bethlehem) scored for the Tigers.

Shots were 14-12 in favor of Skidmore. The Tigers took five corner kicks to two for the Thoroughbreds. Kouroupas and Reverdatto scored, while Anthony DeFeo (Rochester, NY/Hilton) had an assist. Peter Cinibulk (Bellbrook, OH/Bellbrook) made five saves in net for RIT, while Sebastian Bosch made two stops for Skidmore.

The Thoroughbreds took the lead on a Kevin Santos goal in the 17th minute. Dario Flores found Santos in the RIT box and fed him with a pass. Santos chipped a shot over Cinibulk to give Skidmore an early lead. Ausgustine Okoye gave Skidmore a 2-0 lead on his goal in the 53rd minute. He scored on a header off a long free kick into the corner of the net.

The Tigers clawed to within a goal when Kouroupas tallied his third goal of the weekend in the 63rd minute. DeFeo fed a charging Kouroupas in front of the Skidmore net and he tapped in a shot first-time. Reverdatto tied the score with his goal in the 72nd minute, curling in a shot off a free kick.

RIT returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 21 when the Tigers host Bard College at 1 p.m. on the grass at Tiger Stadium.
