ROCHESTER, NY - Executive Sports Information Director Joe Venniro announced that Alex Busch will join the RIT sports information office as an assistant director for the 2016-17 season on Tuesday, Aug. 16. Busch will assist Venniro and director Steve Jaynes in media relations efforts for all of RIT's 22 Division III programs and Division I men's and women's hockey teams.

Busch comes to RIT from Syracuse University, where he was the Director of Broadcast and Media for Syracuse men's hockey club team, while receiving his master's degree in broadcast and digital journalism. He was in charge of all media relations, as well as producing content for www.suhockey.com and social media. He also directed, produced and provided play-by-play commentary for broadcasts of Orange hockey games.

Prior to Syracuse, Busch spent four years at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio., where he earned his bachelor's degree in sport management. He served as the assistant sports editor at the independent student-run newspaper, The Post, as well as hosting a weekly radio show, The Green and White Review, and providing analysis for broadcasts of Ohio men's hockey games.
