ROCHESTER, NY -- Each year the RIT women's basketball team dedicates a February home game to Think Pink, a cause that raises money and awareness for breast cancer research. The Tigers have donated to various organizations over the years. On Saturday, Feb. 7 versus Skidmore College, RIT's proceeds raised will go to the Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester.
Voices of the Ribbon is published quarterly by the Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester for the purpose of providing encouragement and inspiration to those facing a breast cancer diagnosis, their supporters, and care providers. The coalition offers support, education and advocacy for those diagnosed. Every dollar counts!
"This year we are also partnering with RIT's Better Me Program to help raise awareness," said RIT head coach
Amy Reed. "It was important to us to give to a local chapter so the money we raise will have a bigger impact on our community."
Every time a three-point basket is made on Friday (by either team), sponsors will have the opportunity to donate a certain dollar amount to the fund. Last year there were five 3-point baskets made, so if a sponsor signed up to donate $10 per basket, they would donate $50 at the end of the game. Below is a form to fill out for your donations. Thank you so much for your support!
