GENEVA, NY – The RIT men's soccer team (7-10-0, 4-4-0 Liberty League) wrapped up the 2015 season with a 3-1 loss at Hobart College (13-2-2, 5-1-2 Liberty League) on Saturday afternoon from Cozzens Field. With the loss, the Tigers are eliminated from Liberty League postseason play.
Senior
Luke Dorsey (Cazenovia, NY/Cazenovia) scored RIT's lone goal off an assist from
Tyler Hatch (Concord, NH/Tilton School) in the 68th minute. Derrick Acheampong scored a pair of goals for the Statesmen.
Shots were 11-10 in favor of the Statesmen, who took six corner kicks to five for the Tigers.
Peter Cinibulk (Bellbrook, OH/Bellbrook) took the loss in net for RIT, making one save. Tyler Serafine took the win in net for Hobart, making two saves.
Hobart took a 1-0 lead on a goal from Acheampong in the 15th minute. He scored on a service from Joe Busttil with shot first time into the right side of the net.
Tyler Niles gave Hobart a 2-0 lead on his goal in the 57th minute. He scored off a free kick in front of the RIT net. Acheampong tallied his second in the 65th minute, giving the Statesmen a 3-0 lead.
RIT's goal came in the 68th minute when
Sean Heinze (Shrewsbury, MA/Shrewsbury) scored off an assist from
Tyler Hatch (Concord, NH/Tilton School). Hatch sent a service into the Hobart penalty area that Heinze gathered and scored on a low shot.
