ROCHESTER, NY – The RIT women's hockey team looks to extend its winning streak, as they travel to Lindenwood University for a pair of games this weekend. Friday's contest starts at 8 p.m. EST and Saturday's contest starts at 4 p.m. EST.
The Tigers (9-14-3, 3-8-1 CHA) got back into the win column with a wild 4-3 overtime win over Syracuse on Friday evening.
Emilee Bulleid (Waterdown, Ontario/Stoney Creek Sabres) scored her second goal of the game 2:18 into overtime to lift RIT to their first win in extra time at the Polisseni Center. Bulleid, who had one goal over her last 105 games, recorded the first multiple-goal game of her career.
Marissa Maugeri (Ajax, Ontario/Durham West Lightning) tied her career-high with two goals and three points, while
Kolbee McCrea (Wawa, Ontario/Burlington Barracudas) added two assists, giving her 99 career points.
Caitlin Wallace (Brantford, Ontario/Assumption Collegiate) recorded her first collegiate assist on Bulleid's overtime win.
Ali Binnington (Oakville, Ontario/Mississauga Chiefs) made 24 saves in the victory.
Celeste Brown (Great Falls, MT/National Sports Academy) leads the Tigers in scoring with 14 points on eight goals and six assists.
Lindsay Grigg (Oakville, Ontario/Oakville Hornets) is right behind with 12 points, while McCrea and
Mackenzie Stone (Kars, Ontario/South Carleton) have 11. McCrea is one point shy of 100 for her RIT career. In goal, Binnington is 7-7-1 with a 1.46 goals against average and .945 save percentage. She is fifth nationally in save percentage and ninth in goals against average.
Lindenwood (7-15-1, 4-7-1 CHA) enters the weekend looking to get back in the win column after losing a pair of league games at Robert Morris last weekend, 2-1 and 7-1. Its opponents are out-scoring the Lady Lions, 73-36 this season. Shara Jasper leads Lindenwood in scoring with 19 points on eight goals and 11 assists. Jordyn Constance has a team-best nine goals. In goal, Nicole Hensley is 7-12-1 with a 2.83 goals against average and .916 save percentage.
RIT is 4-2-4 all-time against the Lady Lions and 1-1-2 against them all-time at Lindenwood. The two teams met earlier in the season at RIT on Oct. 31-Nov. 1. On the first night, the two teams skated to a 1-1 draw, while Lindenwood won for the first time in Rochester the next day, 3-1. Brittania Gillanders scored the game-winning goal in the third period for Lindenwood, while Hensley made 73 saves on 75 shots in the two games.
The Tigers enter the weekend sixth in league play with seven points, while Lindenwood is fifth with nine points. RIT is five points behind Syracuse and Robert Morris, who are tied for third place in the CHA standings.
