ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT women's soccer team is ranked No. 16 in this week's National Soccer Coaches Association Division III poll, released on Tuesday, September 2. It is the highest-ever ranking for the Tigers in the program's 33-year history.

RIT opened the 2014 season by winning two games last weekend, beating No. 25 SUNY Oneonta, 2-0 and Allegheny College at the 2014 Rachel Miller Memorial Tournament hosted by RIT.
Quincey Ornellas (Moorpark, CA/Moorpark),
Elizabeth May (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford Sutherland) and
Sierra Kiss (Sauquoit, NY/Sauquoit) each scored goals for the Tiger. May tallied a goal and an assist, earning Liberty League Offensive Player of the Week honors.
Amanda Murray (Denville, NJ/Morris Knolls) posted two shutout wins, earning Liberty League Defensive Player of the Week honors.

RIT (2-0-0) will face Otterbein University on Saturday, September 6 and No. 9 Carnegie Mellon on Sunday, September 7 at the Doubletree Tartan Cup hosted by Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pa.
