Click here for results GENEVA, NY - The RIT women's tennis team opened the 2014-15 season at the Mary Hosking Invitational hosted by William Smith College on Sept. 6-7. Senior
Diane Wang (Ames, IA/Ames) was the lone Tiger to win a single match. Juniors
Riane Reithel (Rochester, NY/Webster Schroeder),
Elizabeth McGrail (Rockford, IL/Guilford), and senior
Sara Bjork (Gansevoort, NY/Saratoga Springs) joined her success in the double matchups.
Wang lost her first match to Leah Bowden from University of Rochester 8-4 but rallied back to defeat Chessa Mehlman of Ithaca College 8-5 in the consolation round. Wang continued her success as she teamed up with Reithel in the doubles round for a close 9-8 victory in the consolation round over Kelly Fishback and Maddie Overholt of Ithaca College.
Bjork and McGrail were victorious in the consolation round beating Rochester's Molly Goodman and Dorothy Tai 3-2.
The Tigers will continue their season at William Smith College as they host the ITA Northeast Regional Championship on Sept. 27-29.
