Women's tennis drops 8-1 decision at University of Rochester

ROCHESTER, NY - The RIT women's tennis team (1-6) fell on the road to foe University of Rochester (4-9) in a non-conference contest at the Goergen Athletic Center on Wednesday afternoon. Rochester is No. 20 in the regional rankings.

The Yellowjackets swept all three doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead into the singles contests. Rochester would take a 5-0 lead after winning the third and fourth singles matches handily. At first singles, Sara Bjork (Gansevoort, NY/Saratoga Springs) put up an excellent fight against Rochester's Dorothy Tai, winning the first set, 6-4, before dropping the second set 6-2, and the tiebreaker, 10-5. At second singles, Maite Vera Antelo (Santa Cruz, Bolivia/Mayor San Loranzo) garnered RIT's lone win of the match, defeating Christine Ho in straight sets by scores of 6-4, 6-3.

The Tigers wrap up the 2013-14 regular season with a road contest at Roberts Wesleyan on Thursday, April 24 at 4 p.m.
