ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The RIT women's lacrosse team (3-1) scored 11 unanswered goals in the first half as they dominated SUNY Oswego (0-1) 16-5 on Monday afternoon. #Ashleigh Caruso (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool)# led the Tigers with four goals, while #Shelby Vakiener (Fairport, NY/Fairport)# tallied three goals and dished out five assists tying her season high of points in a game with eight.

RIT held a 36-17 advantage in shots, including a 25-7 advantage in the first half. #Katelyn Crane (Palmyra, NY/Palmyra-Macedon)# made seven saves in net to gain her third win of the season.

The Lakers scored the game's first goal 1:12 into the contest, but wouldn't score again for 31:11 of game action.

Caruso netted three first half goals and Vakiener recorded five of her eight points in the first 30 minutes of play. #Marlee Vlassis (Syracuse, NY/East Syracuse Minoa)# scored three straight Tigers' goals as RIT rattled off seven scores in a 13:04 span.

Mackenzie Kjerstad ended the drought for Oswego with her first score of the season, cutting the deficit to 11-2. Vakiener would respond with back-to-back goals and #Holly Leone (Centerport, NY/Harborfields)# scored twice, pushing the lead to 16-3.

The Tigers return to action on Friday as they host Western New England College at 5 p.m. as a part of the Coaches vs. Cancer Flower City Cup. RIT will also host Endicott on Sunday at 3 p.m.
