POUGHKEEPSIE, NY -- The RIT (9-13, 5-8 Liberty League) women's basketball team had their four-game winning streak snapped on Saturday with an 85-75 loss at Vassar College. #

RIT jumped out quick, scoring the first eight points of the game. Wheeler, Tennant and Havens each scored for the Tigers to help build an eight point lead.
Vassar came back, taking thier first lead of the half on a pair of free throws by Colleen O'Connell at the 10:10 mark to give the Brewers a 17-16 lead.
The Brewers went on a 12-0 run over a 4:17 period, building their lead to 41-29 on a bucket by Natalie Allen with 1:50 to play in the half.
RIT was able to finish the half strong, trailing 43-36 at the break.
Tennant led RIT with 12 first half points, shooting 4-of-5 from the field. Wheeler added six points for the Tigers who shot 38 percent from the floor in the first half on 13-of-34 shooting. Vassar held a 23-15 rebounding edge.
A quick 4-0 spurt by RIT early in the second half cut Vassar's lead to 47-43 on a jumper by Wheeler with 16:04 to play.
That would be as close as the Tigers would get in the second half, as Vassar went on a 13-4 run, opening up a 13-point lead on a free throw by Hannah Senftleber with 10:43 to play.
RIT would get no closer than seven points down the stretch.
RIT shot 39 percent from the floor on 27-of-69 shooting. The Tigers were 6-of-21 from three point land and made 15-of-22 free throws.
Vassar shot 50 percent from the floor and held a 52-33 rebounding edge. Five Brewers scored in double figures led by 17 points from Cydni Matsuoka. O'Connell added 14 points and nine rebounds, while Natalie Allen scored 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
RIT returns to action on Tuesday, Feb. 12 when the Tigers host William Smith College at 6 pm on the floor of Clark Gym.
