ROCHESTER, NY -- On Friday, February 15, the RIT Women's Basketball Team will participate in the annual "Play 4Kay" fundraising event when the Tigers host St. Lawrence University at 6 p.m. on the floor of Clark Gymnasium. The Tigers will don pink shooting shirts during warm ups in honor of the event.

The late Kay Yow, former North Carolina State University head women's basketball coach, served as the catalyst for Play 4Kay after her third recurrence of breast cancer in 2006.  Yow was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1987, and passed away on January 24, 2009.  Each year in mid February, women's basketball teams across the country and at every level raise money and awareness for breast cancer research.

This year, each of the Tigers players will get one (or more) sponsor(s) to donate money each time a three point basket is made by either team during the game. Bring your checkbook to the game and cheer when a three point bucket is made knowing that all proceeds will be going to a wonderful cause! If you select a $10.00 donation and 10 three pointers are made in the game, $100.00 goes to the cause.

Please come out and support your RIT Women's Basketball Team and the fight against breast cancer!
