J.P. Reagan scores 20 to lead Men's basketball to convincing win at SUNY Maritime



BRONX, NY -- Four players scored in double figures led by sophomore #J.P. Reagan#, who scored a team-high 20 points, as the RIT (2-0) men's basketball team defeated SUNY Maritime 95-54 on Saturday afternoon.

Reagan scored 20 points on 7-of-13 shooting, and grabbed seven rebounds. Freshman #Mitch Herman (Webster, NY/Webster Schroeder)# tallied 13 points, including draining all three of his 3-point attempts. Senior guard #Gabe Nicasio (Essex Junction, VT/Essex) added 11 points and (Baldwinsville, NY/C.W. Baker)Miguel Lopez (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico/St. Francis)# scored 10 for the Tigers who shot 57.1 percent from the floor on Saturday.

The Tigers held a 41-25 rebounding edge, led by Reagan and #Kamron Davis (Syracuse, NY/Nottingham) who each had seven boards for the Tigers. (Baldwinsville, NY/C.W. Baker)Casey Bobelis (Bradenton, FL/Braden River)# grabbed five caroms.

The Tigers opened up their lead with a big run to end the first half, outscoring Maritime 34-8 over the final 9:38 of the stanza to lead 56-24 at the half.

The Tigers return home to host the Harold J. Brodie Tournament next weekend, beginning Friday evening at 6 p.m. at Clark Gym. RIT welcomes Keuka College, Alfred State and Baptist Bible College.
