ROCHESTER, NY - The RIT volleyball team (8-13) fell to crosstown rival University of Rochester (7-13) in three sets in non-conference action from Clark Gym on Tuesday evening. Rochester won by scores of 25-16, 25-14, 25-18.
The Yellowjackets were in control for most of the match, holding big leads in all three sets. Rochester slammed 14 service aces and took advantage of 24 RIT hitting errors in the match.

Sarah Szybist (Chicago, IL/Ramstein)# led the Tigers with 12 kills, but also had 12 hitting errors. #
Arielle Pariente (Twinsburg, OH/Twinsburg)# led the team with six assists and two assisted blocks, while #
Sara Martin (Rochester, NY/West Irondequoit)# had seven digs and three kills.
Emma Gira hit .800 with eight kills for Rochester, while Savannah Benton had eight kills and two blocks. Aimee Kohler had 13 assists and five digs. Meghan Connor led the squad with 14 digs, while Alexandra Goldman recorded four blocks.
The Tigers are back in action on Friday and Saturday at the Blue Devil Invitational hosted by Fredonia State University. RIT plays Westminster at 6 p.m. and LaRoche at 8 p.m.
