ROCHESTER, NY -- Freshman Quincey Ornellas (Moorpark, CA/Moorpark) goal in the 79th minute proved to be the game winner as the RIT (3-2-0) women's soccer team defeated the University of Rochester 2-1 in non-conference action from Fauver Stadium Wednesday evening.

Junior Chelsea Shoemaker (Rochester, NY/Aquinas) fired a cross into the box from the right flank that Ornellas headed into the back of the net for her first collegiate goal.

RIT held a slight shot on shots, 9-7. The Tigers took four corner kicks to three for the Yellowjackets.

The Tigers got on the board first on Rachael Bromson (Suffield, CT/Suffield)'s fourth goal of the season. Ashlene Potter (Rotterdam, NY/Schalmont) had the assist on the play. Bromson tapped in a rebound off a shot from Potter. Rochester goalkeeper Bridget Lang misplayed the rebound allowing Bromson to tap the ball home.
